An Exclusive Collaboration with Melissa Mary Jenkins
This painting epitomizes the concepts of Scandinavian design.
The house is characterized by functional, simple and defined lines yet it draws the eye in with its textured walls. The fertile fields in the background contrasted with the bleakness of the foreground beckons the viewer to find beauty in both the conventional and the mundane. Melissa crafted this painting on her iPad using a program called Procreate. She added a textured effect to create a distinctly authentic feel to this digital print.
Melissa “thinks in paintings” and crafting digital art is an immediate way to transfer her thoughts. Creating digital art is also a natural progression in Melissa’s sustainable art practice because her process generates zero art-material waste.
Melissa’s fine art prints are printed by PosterJack, a 100% Canadian company dedicated to using water based, eco-friendly inks on the best photo rag on the planet.

About the Artist
Melissa lives in a lovely rural setting in a farm house surrounded by vibrant landscapes. Her studio is framed by windows looking out onto dazzling golden fields, towering pine trees and a natural pond. She spends her summer on a lake in northern Ontario where she spends her days foraging by the lake and local waterfalls. Melissa paints with and around her twin girls and in between living "life". Melissa’s abstract landscapes reflect the colours of the seasons, the lines of the hills surrounding her studio and the trees dotting the horizon.
